The Children Ministry at Lake East Christian Church is centered on Bible · Faith · Fun (BFF). We believe that every child is a precious gift from God. Our goal is to provide a joyful, safe, loving, and faith-filled environment where children can explore God’s Word, grow in their faith, and have fun learning and building friendships together.
Our Sunday School curriculum follows the church’s lectionary and is thoughtfully planned around key Bible passages and essential truths of the Christian faith. Through praise and worship, Bible stories, interactive questions, prayer, songs, games, and crafts, children learn to connect God’s Word with their everyday lives, grow in their love for Jesus, and live out their faith.
Our Sunday School welcomes children from Kindergarten through 5th Grade.

Teachers:
Wendy Li is the Children Ministry minister. We also have the following two teachers and other assistants and volunteers for this wonderful ministry.

Teacher Joyce comes from a third-generation Christian family and grew up in the church alongside her grandmother. Her childhood experiences in the church inspired her to serve children and help them know God.
In 2023, Joyce joined the LECC Children Ministry as a parent. She later responded to God’s call by serving as a teaching assistant and eventually became the Bible story teacher for the Pre-K class. This year, she officially joined the Children’s Ministry coworker team, serving alongside others to help children grow in faith. Joyce and her husband, Sid, have one daughter.

Teacher Chong, his wife Sophia, and their two children joined the Lake East Christian Church family in 2024. Since then, he and his wife have participated in the Children Sunday School as parents, accompanying and supporting the children as they learn and grow.
In 2025, Teacher Chong began serving as a teaching assistant. In 2026, he became a Bible story teacher for the younger children’s class. Through serving, he is grateful not only to witness the children’s growth, but also to be continually renewed and shaped by God’s Word.
Teacher Chong has a heart for serving and is always willing to help whenever the church has a need. He hopes to guide children in knowing God with faithfulness and love, and to be a blessing to the children in God’s family through his service.
